Highway 401 Crash Near Odessa: Two Charged

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals in connection with a Highway 401 crash near Odessa that occurred on Friday, March 17, 2023. The crash resulted in the closure of the highway for several hours.
Charges and Accused
OPP have charged 23-year-old John Doe and 25-year-old Jane Doe with the following offenses:
- Careless driving
- Operating a motor vehicle without insurance
Both individuals were released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
Incident Overview
According to OPP, a tractor-trailer lost a set of tires on the westbound lanes of Highway 401 near Odessa shortly after 2:00 PM on March 17th. As a result, traffic was disrupted for several hours while crews worked to clear the debris and repair the roadway.
The OPP continues to investigate the crash and are asking any witnesses to contact them with any information that could assist in their investigation.
